Rolex GMT II (New)

(4.9)
The GMT II is the first Rolex watch to feature an instantly recognizable high-tech ceramic Cerachrom bezel. This one-piece, two-color bezel is scratch-resistant, extremely hard and features a 24-hour scale. The bezel was developed by Rolex and is available in several color combinations.
The 2014 model reproduces the classic color scheme of the original. To combine red and blue hues in a single ceramic component was definitely a major challenge to achieve. After years of research, this technical masterpiece was finally realized, a world first.

Customer Reviews
The GMT II is an exceptional city watch. In addition to the traditional time, it also displays the time in a second time zone by means of a dedicated 24-hour hand and a 24-hour scale with a two-color rotating bezel. At a glance, the wearer can read the time at his or her current location and the time on the other side of the globe, a link between the wearer and wherever his or her heart desires. It carries memories, plans, experiences and future journeys.
Simultaneous display of two time zones
Greenwich-type watches are named for their function. Greenwich Mean Time (GMT) refers to the standard time measured at the Royal Observatory in Greenwich, a suburb of London. Since 1884, GMT has been the prime meridian for determining the 24 different time zones around the world.
The GMT II was introduced in 1982 with the same functions as its predecessor. The watch's triangular arrow 24-hour hand and 24-hour scale rotate bi-directionally on the outer ring, allowing the wearer to read the time in a second time zone. The difference between the two watches lies in the way the hour hand is set at the location. The GMT II's hour hand is independently adjustable in one-hour increments and does not interfere with the operation of the watch.
